Good PS3 Super Slim Teardown to Follow? I've just picked up a 500GB Super Slim for dirt cheap off Vinted with 2 official controllers - still waiting for it to be delivered but I'm planning on giving it a clean and replacing the thermal paste. Does anybody have a good teardown guide for this model? Super Slim isn't bad but can be noiser and more fragile. Should be fine with either one though. Even if you do want to play PS1/PS2 games I'd recommend buying a PS2. I mean I don't know how much a PS2 or PS3 with BC cost these days but the OG PS3 has the YLOD issue. I'd grab a PS3 Slim/Super Slim and PS2. The best PS3 is a 25XX because if the blueray drive ever dies you don't have to remarry the new one to the motherboard. Some of the 25XX you can jailbreak (I have Rebug on a CECH2501 so I recommend that model). Anything before 25XX can be jailbroken but nothing after 25XX can. You can trust and buy second hand, these are super reliable. After all this time reapplying the thermal paste is a good idea though. Drive failures on super slim are way more common because the internals are more exposed and it's just a worse more noisy drive period.
